Armored howitzers usually support armored units from withdrawn positions. Frequent changes of locations under what are often extreme conditions is an absolute prerequisite for these vehicles to survive.

Ensuring the high mobility and excellent maneuverability of the vehicles is therefore clearly a major task for drive specialists.
