In the Asian region, MTU is represented by Tognum Asia Pte Ltd (formerly MTU Asia Pte Ltd, Singapore) and its subsidiaries.
The operational centre is located in Singapore, while the strategic regional headquarter has been moved to Shanghai and is operating under the umbrella of MTU China.
Other subsidiaries in the Region are PT MTU Indonesia, MTU India, MTU China, MTU Hong Kong, MTU Engineering (Suzhou), MTU Vietnam, MTU-Marubeni Japan.
MTU in China
MTU’s well established operation in China is based on the operations of MTU Hong Kong, MTU Engineering (Suzhou) and MTU China in Shanghai. While MTU Hong Kong is the distributor and thus responsible for the direct customer support, MTU Suzhou Engineering is an assembly factory to assemble and supply series 2000 engines and MTU China in Shanghai develops and manages the strategic activities in the country.
In addition, branch offices in Beijing, Qingdao, Dalian and Zhangjiang and service dealers in many other locations are vital to the far-reaching support base for our customers.
With a strong network of MTU’s service dealers and authorized workshops, MTU is able to provide countrywide after-sales services to all our valued customers in China.
MTU Engineering (Suzhou) originally started as the MTU Service Center at the Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) in 1996. It had training facilities and ran workshops to serve all MTU customers in China.
In 2006, the company moved into a new factory at 9 Long Yun Road (which is still located within the SIP) to cater for the expansion to assemble MTU diesel engines in China.
This plant, which assembles the MTU engine Series 2000 for power generation, is MTU’s third production site world wide.
In 2010 the Tognum and Norinco Joint Venture “Shanxi North MTU Diesel Co., Ltd.” (SNMD) opened its engine and genset facility in Datong. This State-of-the-art manufacturing facility will assemble large, high speed MTU diesel engines and emergency stand by gensets.
With a well-equipped quality control department, and experienced and Germany-trained specialists from MTU, the diesel engines are produced in strict compliance with MTU’s stringent production and quality standards.

Welcome to Tognum Asia Pte Ltd (formerly MTU Asia Pte. Ltd.) in Singapore – the home of our power brands MTU and MTU Onsite Energy in Asia-Pacific.
Tognum Asia is the Asia-Pacific headquarters for all MTU and MTU Onsite Energy products and services. The areas of application engineering, sales and after-sales support, distribution management, marketing, communications and more key functions for Asia are strategically located in Singapore.
As a Regional Distribution Centre, the spare parts are supplied quickly and efficiently to the entire region.
Our supplies are expedited from our fully computerized inventory, which is supported by state-of-the-art stock management software as well as modern warehouse handling systems.
Our support infra-structure also includes an excellent and well equipped workshop, with full test bench and comprehensive training facilities.
