Working vessels have a tough life. They have to keep doing their job all day, every day - regardless of heavy seas, gale-force winds and treacherous weather.

Such a duty profile places extreme demands on the propulsion systems. Reliability, durability, low fuel and oil consumption together with straightforward maintenance are the fundamental requirements for safe, reliable and economical operation.

These are exactly the qualities of our Series 60, Series 2000 and MTU IRONMEN Series 4000 engines. Large numbers of fishing boats, fishery protection vessels and other types of working vessels have been equipped with our engines and monitoring systems for many years. For these specialized requirements we offer not only engines for new craft but also conversions, engine refitting and modernization of existing propulsion systems.

It goes without saying, of course, that all our engines - whether used as main propulsion units or for electricity generation - meet the requirements of classification societies, merchant shipping associations and the IMO.
