MTU has decades of experience in the field of military vehicle drive systems and our accumulated expertise allows us to develop and produce complex drive systems for everything from small armoured vehicles to modern battle tanks.
We are able to supply a total of six different engine series covering a power range from 90 kW to 2016 kW. Our tank engines are series units which means that each engine series is available with a choice of different cylinder configurations. Thus a battle tank may be fitted with a 12-cylinder engine whilst an 8-cylinder version of the same engine is better suited for powering an armoured howitzer.
Alongside its engines, MTU also supplies highly-integrated ”PowerPacks“ consisting of engine, gearbox, cooling system and air filtration plant.
